Weather
How is everyone’s weather been? Good, bad, in between? Let us know, we are interested in hearing what you have to say about it. (Even if you end up gloating about it! 😂) Our weather has been rainy for weeks, but today was a beautiful day. We are hopeful for more nice days, before the snow flies! You will see pictures of all our babies as time goes on but for now you will see our good weather pictures. And no, the sun is not very warm at this time of year. However Tanya loves the cooler weather and the leaves turning. They look so beautiful. Makes it nice to sit outside and enjoy with the pups. Right now we have to sit outside with them seeing as the 3 youngest are escape artists, 😂😂 In reality they are just so big that they can practically step over the porch gate! 😁
Baking/Canning
I have also been baking, I made an apricot pastry with puff pastry. I haven’t baked with puff pastry very much, but it is fairly easy. I baked loaves of bread, a white, a cinnamon raisin and a loaf of pumpernickel, dark. It was my first time making anything besides white bread but they turned out great! My husband enjoys the pumpernickel as toast and Tanya and I love cinnamon raisin bread! To say I’m not very good with yeast breads is so correct, but I’m getting better with it. I’ve stayed with the same recipe for my white and cinnamon raisin, they are just now coming out the way they are supposed to. The pumpernickel was a totally different recipe but again was very good. I just keep trying till I get it right.
Canning
I put up 4 quart jars of sweet/hot pickles. First time as well and we made them with fresh cucumbers. They turned so yummy! (Considering there is only 2 left already) 😂 Taste was great, texture was the way they are supposed to be.
Dinner
I made a new dinner recipe too of mashed potatoes, layered with chicken then corn, with a little gravy on top, then added stuffing on top of that. To finish off I put a couple ladles of gravy over all, then baked till hot and bubbling. Tanya loved it! Lots of firsts this past week! I changed it a little bit from the original recipe and to check that out then look up the following on Facebook!

Babies
Unfortunately we had one of our cats get sick this week. Tutu (as in 2 2) is a tiger cat with some white. His brother is all tiger. So we have tigger and tigger 2, shortened to, tutu. 😂😂 Anyway, he was in a fight, got his ear clawed, it filled with blood, and got feverish. He wouldn’t eat or drink, gave him antibiotics for 5 days, by the 6th day he was ready to go outside and run around again. He came in a couple of times throughout the day, as good as new.
Halloween
What’s your FAVORITE holiday? Tanya’s been gearing up to decorate for Halloween. We don’t have much but she gets such a kick out of what we do have. She’s also starting to think about Halloween costumes as her work has a Halloween calendar. Every day is a different dress up day, it’s not mandatory but they all have such fun dressing up for work!
