it’s been a few days since my last post as the other day a dear friend of mine passed away. It’s so hard to write about Lori and believe that she’s gone. It doesn’t seem real and just today is hitting me a little more and becoming more real. She was a wonderful person and had the most caring loving heart of anyone I know. My heart just hurts with the thought that I can’t ever see her or talk to her ever again.

Mom’s saving grace

However I try to think of how she is in a better place now and is surrounded by her other loved ones as well as my brother who passed 2 years ago on Oct. 9th, 2022. Lori saved our lives. My. Mother, my brothers, my children, and myself. When my momma moved to Alaska with my brothers they ended up only having a place to live thanks to her. She helped my mom get back on her feet and in the course of helping her they became fast friends.

My saving grace

When I ended up homeless with my children Lori once again was the one that saved our lives. She paid for myself and my children to fly here to Alaska to be with my momma and brothers. My life began here as the best of everything in my life has happened here. She was the start of that. Lori was the first and best thing going for me in Alaska. My family have a life here because of her and I hope I’ve worked hard to be a better person so she’s proud of me.

Navigating loss and life

We all have people we love and have lost in our lives. I want you all to take a moment to remember and reflect on what they meant to you and the impact that person or persons had on your life. Find solace that if you keep striving to be the best you can be for them. It’s in their memory that we keep living and growing. The pain just reminds us we’re alive and that we have loved. Remember that sometimes we need help to deal with life, death, and everything in between. It’s not shameful to need help or to ask for help. If you or someone you know needs help please clink the link below. Call, text, or chat. Anytime night or day 988 or 988lifeline.org

For Lori

I met an angel one day that smiled upon me

Warmth and love poured from her heart

When she disappeared from my sight the rain poured down

My heart hurt that I might never feel that love shine down on me

Suddenly a rainbow started to glow as her voice whispered in my ear……..

I am forever and always in your heart and mind

I’m in every raindrop and every grain of sand

I’m in every pot of gold at the end of each rainbow

I’m in every breath you take and you only have to think of me to have me by your side.
